New Xmas Haus Of Gloi Products Avaliable

November 8, 2010 Leave a comment

Oooh ooh, yesterday was the much awaited release of the Yule goodies from the Haus, stalked the clock all afternoon for them to update their site and got my goodies 8 minutes after they went on sale, still obviously very much in love with Haus Of Gloi, and never disappointed by their products.

My tip would be to quickly go for the Glogg perfume oil, there’s limited (one per customer) supplies as this year Britton couldn’t re-stock it in the usual soap, scrub and lotion forms. surprised this hasn’t sold out already, but have noticed a few of the items are sold, so keep your eye on the site for when stock is replaced.

If you don’t already know the usual Parkin, Hearth and Snow Wolf are back along with a new scent Eggnoggin. The site says Yule items should be avaliable until the 5th of January 2011.

Will return to do a review when my items are here.

New Halloween Haus Of Gloi Products

August 29, 2010 Leave a comment

Look on the brand new Haus Of Gloi website from today onwards for some new Halloween goodies.

New scents are:

PUMPKIN QUEEN: Gentle hay pillows, pumpkin flesh, ripe peaches dusted with clove and nutmeg, dried summer herbs, and lastly, a lovely crown of amber.

SAMHAIN: Rustling leaves, chilled winds …
Freshly turned earth, wet leaves, and a cool herb laden wind carrying spectres and spooks!

HEX:
You’ve been bewitched! Lecherous: brackish amber, aged vanilla bean and three dark fruits, veiled in darkness and otherworldly secrecy.

SAFT ERNTE:
A merry drink of harvest and glowing with warmth: Peach juice simmering with sweet spices, pumpkin, silken hazelnut cream and made completely curious with a drop of orange blossom water.

They will all be avaliable in soap form, bathing dust, perfume, bubbling scrub and the new thicker pumpkin butter cream.

There is also a new lip balm avaliable for limited edition too.

Everything sounds beautiful and going to have to make a big order, recently bought lots of HoG products, still loving this company.

Grumpy Haul ~ Collective Haul

Have bought several Grumpy Girl products this year. Have tried every scent in different types of products, but here is a selection of just a few.

Found Grumpy Girl on You Tube, there is several GG haul videos there, and liked the way they were packaged and the excitement of trying the new scents. There’s wax melts, candles, soaps, various thickness of body butters, scrubs, lip balms, body sprays, and solid perfumes. Can buy samples of some of this products, and there is always a few free samples with each order. The scent list is here.

So, unto various products and my faves.

Booty Call Soap

Wholesome oats and sweet cream are infused with rich warm notes of honey and almonds and topped with a sprinkling of brown sugar.

All of the Grumpy soaps are very conditioning, lather up really well. and this soap in my honest opinion is best used in the Booty Call or 3 Bears scent. I always cut my soaps into little pieces because I’d prefer to swop and change soaps and not ruin them by sitting in a puddle of bubbles. The soaps have never let me down. All smell great. You get a huge piece of soap for around $5.50 (differs with some scents)

Booty Call itself reminds me a teeny tiny bit of Snowcake from Lush, that would be the almond scent, and it’s so nicely blended with the honey. This is one of those soaps you want to eat. It’s a bit scrubby, you’ll need to go easy on rubbing the actual bar on your skin.

Acid Trip Scrub

A meditative unisex blend of patchouli, sweet orange, lavendin, pine, lemongrass and elelmi, with notes of incense, amber and musk.

This is a dupe of Lush’s Karma. Spot on, in fact this is how I used to love Karma, found it’s become just a slight bit more sweeter over the years. And this is the Karma I fell in love with years ago. If you don’t know Karma : it’s like walking around on a sunday afternoon around Camden Town in London, incense and summer altogether.

The scrub itself lasts for a long time, you’ll find you don’t need a awful lot for one use, and this will last at least two weeks. Doesn’t leave any oils on your skin but it does feel soft.

Woodstock 69 Stick O Buttah

The ultimate hippie fragrance blend! A rich, beautiful blend, with an earthy hint of patchouli and sweet smell of nag champa

VERY hippie. Love this scent so much, and have sniffed my arms after using this so much, scent lingers fairly strongly, the butter is a bit greasy, you roll on the stick, and it’s up to you if you want to rub it in your skin, I tend to leave it on as I find my skin instantly is smooth. And because I love the scent so much. The butter will stay on your skin all day.

Porn Star In Pink Panties Body Spray

A complex scent of fresh bergamot, juicy citron, mingling with floral notes of neroli, jasmine and rose. Leading into the heart of the fragrance, are notes of sweet pear, plum, apricot, and red lyche, ending with base notes of sensual musk and cedarwood, with swirl of white chocolate and fluffy pink cupcakes.

This lasts friggin ages, used a few times and doesn’t look like I’ve used any at all. I would not recommend spraying under armpits, but over your arms, chest, stomach works well. Scent lingers all day, and find I prefer the Little Squirts body spray which is a much smaller product.

This scent is very strong, a perfume scent, and seems to be one of the more popular scents, very fruity.

Voodoo Berry Lip Crack

No description, but this is very berry, with slight black cherry included. The balms are soft and conditioning. I’ve had a few samples of this included with orders before rather than soap.

Plum Crazie Fluffy Stuff Soap

Rich, vibrant plums, raspberries, cranberry, citrus, apple, strawberry with a touch of vanilla, honey and rum.

This whipped soap is so soft and so easy to apply, a little goes a long way, and quickly lathers up. The scent doesn’t tend to last after it’s been washed off, but you’ll love it during a shower. The scent is so fruity and yummy. Can smell the raspberries and plum.

Let Them Eat Cake Goats Milk, Shea Butter & Honey Lotion

Rich, buttery Italian birthday cake topped with fluffy buttercream frosting.

My favourite of the lotions, it’s not too thick, lasts so long, and the scent always compliments the lotion. It easily soaks into skin, the scent is a yummy cake scent. Another you want to eat it scent.

Find I don’t need to re-apply this at all. By far my favourite product from Grumpy.

Check out the videos on You Tube and drool over the scent descriptions.

Ten Digit Creations

July 6, 2010 2 comments

A Facebook friend recommended this company and have seen it reviewed at a few blogs, ordered Little Black Dress solid perfume and Vampire Venom lotion. Only took a couple of days for items to be sent.

Received a thank you note, both products, no sample.

Ten Digit Creations sell candles, wax tarts,  soap, lotion, sugar scrub, bath salts, perfumes, body mist, lip balm and room sprays.

Items received are well priced, the lotion cost $3.75 for 2oz, and the solid perfume was $4.50.

There is so many scents to choose from, have a look at their scent list here

Unto the items..

Vampire Venom Lotion

only a bite from Edward or Jacob could be so sweet…essences of honey, chocolate and caramel, blended with notes of vanilla, patchouli & sandalwood

I love love love this scent. The scent lingers all day, it’s almost fruity, and yet there is hint of spice. The lotion needs a little bit of rubbing in, it’s rich and a little thick. Need a little more applied after a few hours. Only little problem is it takes a bit of effort to get the actual lotion out, would be so much better in a tub where you dip your fingers in. Although used this a few times, and it looks like I’ve used hardly any, so it does last a long time.

When this runs out, will be buying more in this scent. Works well in the lotion.

Little Black Dress Solid Perfume

rich blackberry, ruby cassis, sugared apricots, violet petals, sweet heliotrope and burgundy roses with bottom notes of golden amber, velvety vanilla musk and smooth sandalwood

Very fruity, and nicely blended, cannot pick out the heaviest note in this, it’s more fruity than musky, the perfume lasts for a few hours, bit oily and takes a while for this to sink in. Might also be good to use as cuticle butter for the oils used.

All of the other scents sound awesome, will make a bigger order next week or so. Have my eyes on Sweet Orange And Chilli Pepper, Cinnamon Buns, and Fig & Melon.

Grumpy Girl “Cranky Cups”

Bought a few of these, and just got round to heating up my second Cranky Cup in the scent: Candied Toffee Crunch, it’s a nice warm day and with the windows open the scent is working it’s way through the house. It’s a strong scent, but not overpowering.

Cranky cup’s are like the Tarts you buy from Yankee Candles, they are little melts that when burned release a scent to fill your room. Have a little tealight underneath the the top and that’s what warms the cranky cups.

Smells a bit like a Dime Bar, imagine splitting it in half, and you can smell the toffee, chocolate and caramel, exactly like that.

Have a normal sized tart-warmer so I split my Cranky Cup’s in half to burn. Half will get me at least 10 hours burning time.

Have a few of these little cups and defently will get some more, there’s many scents to choose from.

Grumpy Girl sells each Cup for $1.90 each (around £1.30) and if you buy during the “PMS Sale” (once a month, get it?!!!) you get 20% off your product order. Sign up to Grumpy Girl Newsletters to find out when each sale takes place, or “like” GG on Facebook HERE

Based in Franklin, KY. Grumpy Girl sells candles and bath and body products, most of the body products are the same scent as the wax melts, there’s around 50 different scents, along with seasonal scents, and are avaliable in Body Sprays, Soap, various Body Scrubs sizes, Lotions, Solid Perfumes, and Lip Cracks (balm)

Products tend to take around a week to two weeks to be freshly made, then add on a week for US to UK shipping. Usually get my orders around three weeks after placement, along with a couple of soap samples or lip balm. A toy and candy or chocolate.

“Jai Mahal” Whipped From Villainess

Have tried about 6 scents from the Villainess range and Jai Mahal is definitely my favourite of them all, Villainess describes the scent as:

A lesser palace infused with the sweet scent of victory. 4 rich vanillas and tonka, Mysore sandalwood, bourbon and coconut. Expensive woods, incense and imported spices – cedar, amber, myrrh, cardamom and nutmeg.

Not over powering or offensive to anyone around you, you’ll be sniffing your arms all day.
The “Whipped!” is a rich body lotion, I found it needed a large amount of product to completely moisturise my dry arms but as this is a 6oz tub you’ll find you have more than enough to be able to use if you need extra moisture.
Would buy this again, maybe next time in a Perfume Oil as Jai Mahal is a very addictive scent.
Based in Waverly, TN. Villainess own 28 regular scents, along with several Limited Edition seasonal scents. The scents are used in Whipped (lotions),  Soap, Smooch (sugar scrubs), Perfume Oils, and Facial Products. There’s also a Smack! (more sugar scrubs) section offering you the chance to have up to 4 different scents (different from the normal scent line up) in one tub. Villainess also offer a variety of bath accessories, and gift sets.
The products ordered took around a week and a half, and included two free soap samples (you choose which when you order) and a couple of candies.

Crabtree And Evelyn Le Source Shampoo And Conditioner

Have used the Le Source Seaweed Volumising Shampoo and the Le Source Seaweed Energising Conditioner for two days now, firstly I was pleased there wasn’t too much of a marine smell. The scent in both was very light and in no way off putting. Slight floral scent to it, maybe that’s the aloe vera mixing with the seaweed.

The shampoo (£8 for 300ml) lathered up more than was expecting, probably used too much on the first useage, you really only need a small amount. Have shoulder length hair and about the size of a 50p coin of shampoo is just right for me. Washes out easily and hair felt really clean.

Again with the conditioner (£7 for 200ml) you really only need a small amount maybe a teaspoon’s worth. Straight away my hair felt soft, kept the conditioner in whilst I used my facial cleanser and when washed out hair does feel very soft.

When my hair has dryed it keeps it’s soft healthy condition. No tangles, very easy to manage, no problems whatsoever. Don’t have frizzy hair so can’t comment on if these products would have ease frizz.

Overall would defently buy these products again, and would pay double what I paid, they are defently more superior than supermarket brands. I bought both items at Salon Skincare when they were doing a buy anything get free postage deal for May.
